Lost Girl Recap S2E3: Scream a Little Dream

Poor Kenzi, house cleaning doesn’t agree with her, as she and Bo try to clean away all traces of Dyson.

An elderly lady, freaks a little, before knocking her melon pretty good. The bellman notices that all of the old people seem to be sleepwalking. This may just be what Bo needs to get herself out of her funk.

A whole lot of sugar later, the bellman, Frank spills the beans. He’s fae, and he’s suppose to be caring for the folks in his building, but the people inside are suffering from some brain mush. The Ash can’t be bothered with these little problems, and so Frank has come to Bo to save the day. She agrees to strap on her cape and come to the rescue. Kenzi tells her that if they ever made some money, they could actually hire a cleaning lady, but Bo is all selfless. Or mostly selfless, and she calls Dr. Lauren to come make a housecall, as Kenzi makes herself scarce.

Kenzi pays Trick a little visit, and vents all about her lack of clean house issue. A eavesdropping Brownie overhears her, and he sounds like the answer to all her prayers. She asks for the lowdown, and Trick makes him sound pretty harmless. Kenzi happily takes him home.

Dr. Lauren and Bo play doctor, and so far there’s nothing conclusive. Bo questions Lauren’s position, but there’s no reason to break out the champagne yet.

Bo has no news, only exhaustion, and she’s a little startled by her new housemate, the Brownie, Mumphert! Mumphert gets to doing the housework, and Bo has a late night visitor. As far as late night visitors go, at least this one has the courtesy to shower before reeking mayhem. But the only mayhem he’s here to reek is on her body. Dyson looking all insanely hot invites her into the steamy shower, and Bo goes. It’s all sexy time until he scratches her,  and rips her heart out. Bo is having one crazy dream, and her cries bring Kenzi a running. Something is feeding on her, and when Kenzi tries to cleave her in two, it disappears.

Downstairs the house is immaculate, Mumphert is not only a cleaning god, he makes a mean pot of joe, the only downside is he ate all the honey berry crunch cereal. Bo goes to investigate her mystery lady, which leads her straight to Trick, the fount of knowledge. He tells her it’s a mare, not one that goes all neigh, but rather a night-mare, a type of dark fae that feeds on bad dreams. Mares aren’t usually so toxic, and Trick warns her away as he does a little research.

Bo heads over to Dr Lauren for a little diagnostic. Bo and the Mare have established a connection, a two way street, which is unheard of. So Bo, is far more awesome than was first thought, and of course more powerful.

Mumphert turns out to be even more awesome, landing Kenzi some limited edition couture. He really is the answer to her prayers. He reminds her that they’re out of cereal, and she gets a little short with him when he reminds her to grab some cereal. Come on girl, go get the man some cereal, but of course with that eye roll, she’s not going to heed Trick’s warning, and not take the Brownie forgranted. I would kill for a Brownie.

Dr. Lauren looks for some nasty pills, made from odd ingredients. Bo wants a little bedtime story, but its really never the right time. The new Ash comes in in all his jackass glory. Dr. Lauren has been hiding things yet again as she falls to her knees. Bo takes offense to Lauren being called property, but when the Dr. asks her to stand down, there’s nothing more that she can do. The Ash having made his point leaves.

Kenzi tries to keep Bo awake, but the girl is grumpy! Rather than guzzling more coffee, Trick suggests getting a Baku, which eats bad dreams. Unfortunately that means going to the new Ash to request an audience. In the Ash’s waiting room she has a little nightmare, and the Ash awakens her. Bo fumbles a bit in her delivery, asking to speak to Lauren. The Ash denies her request, moves straight into the first date chitchat. Bo reveals that she took on Frank’s problem, but the Ash has never heard of Frank, and Bo has been duped.

Kenzi shakes her groove thing, and is less than pleased with Mumphert’s current performance finding clothes in her pot, and everything looking less that spotless. His campaign of mass annoyance is taking his toll on her, and he’s being just a little childish, but she still hasn’t gotten the man any cereal!

Bo pays Frank a little visit, and she’s less than shiny. He deals with her easily, blowing a little sand in her face, and carrying his prize away. In Trick’s bar all her friends are happy to make plans without lil miss buzz kill, Bo, and poor girl is stuck in her chair. What a sucky dream, but it could be worse. The mare returns, and gets a little handsy, and Bo doesn’t even try to stop her. She’s forgotten who she is, as everything goes all dark and crumbly, even herself. Frank the Sandman is there when she awakens, and though he feigns innocence, it doesn’t stop Bo breaking his chair, or him a little.

Kenzi returns with a giant bag of loot, and comes home to find him in her clothes. He felt abandoned and unwanted, when all he wanted was a little gratitude, and Kenzi shows him just how grateful she is with a whole duffle of Honey Berry Crunch. Once his feathers are unruffled, she has a request in mind, a Baku, not just the pelt.

Bo feeds on Frank and gets down to the skinny. He’s squatting in light fae territory, and he’s doing it all for Connie. She needed a fae to eat, and she can’t eat a sandman who never sleeps. Being so close to Frank puts Bo back into a slumber, and a very pregnant Connie berates Franks loose lips. The couples bickering awakens Bo, and she gets away before they can make a meal of her. Stumbling down the hallway, Bo struggles to stay awake making it to the elevator. She calls to her anchor, Kenzi for help, and Mumphert delivers just in time. Bo decides to turn the tables on the Mare, and go to her home in the basement.

She sees an older version of herself, crying over how beautiful she is. Spilling the fates of all of her friends, of Kenzi’s death, losing Dyson’s and Lauren’s love. She struggles with herself, her elderly self desiring human touch, but its all an illusion. Kenzi and company come to the rescue, and the Baku wraps her in a hug, making the old version of herself fall away. Dyson materializes, and she’s prickly about his presence. He tells her he wants to be with her, but she’s confused. He offers her heart’s desire if she stays with him, but although the Baku has eaten the scary dream he can’t bring her out. She’s trapped. Kenzi begs her to hear her, even though the Baku tells her that she can’t. Bo kisses Dyson, and stabs him through, telling him goodbye. She returns to Kenzi, and thanks the Baku, and sets him loose on the rest of the apartment building. She may be free, but she’s still linked. They break in on the Mare about to deliver.

Bo goes to the Ash and fills him in on everything. He’s not exactly grateful. He offers her a position, which she nicely declines.

Mumphert decides to leave Kenzi, because the Baku needs her more. She doesn’t want him to leave, but she lets him go, sending him away with all his cereal. Bo prepares to get some much needed slumber, and Kenzi prepares to take watch.
