“GRIMM”: The final season begins Friday, Jan. 6, 8-9 p.m.
Closing out an incredibly successful series run and giving viewers a chance to say goodbye over the last 13 episodes, the sixth and final season of NBC’s drama “Grimm” will begin its last chapter with the battle fans have long been waiting for — Nick versus Capt. Renard.

The series, which reached the 100-episode milestone last season, has long been a fan and critical favorite, with the Los Angeles Times calling it “terrific and trendsetting… ‘Grimm’ has become a beacon of solid narrative and a weekly reminder of why monsters matter.” The New York Times said “Grimm” is “engaging, clever, tense, funny and well-paced, featuring a remarkably appealing cast.”

As for events leading into the final season, the nefarious forces of Black Claw have been silenced and Nick (David Giuntoli) faces an all too familiar foe in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now in the seat of power as the mayor elect of Portland, Renard is poised to bring rise to his own brand of law and order. Nick must take a stand to protect his city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). It will take the full force of Nick and his allies to find a way to bring the peace.

Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) grapple with bringing a child into a new and tumultuous world, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) faces unsettling identity issues as her former self lurks below the surface.

“Grimm” also stars Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee.

The series was created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and Stephen Carpenter. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner (“Hollywood Game Night,”  ”Hot in Cleveland”) serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf. “Grimm” is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production.

“EMERALD CITY”: Friday, Jan. 6, 9-11 p.m. two-hour event; 9-10 p.m. each week following
Swept up into the eye of a tornado, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) is transported to another world — a mystical land where an all-powerful ruler (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom, has outlawed magic, and faces not only the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches but a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force. Epic, romantic and fantastical, “Emerald City” is an empowering tale of a young woman finding her true strength and identity even as she battles to bring a divided world together.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, Jordan Loughran, Gerran Howell and Joely Richardson also star. David Schulner, Shaun Cassidy, Josh Friedman and Matthew Arnold serve as executive producers. The series is directed by Tarsem Singh Dhandwar, who also serves as an executive producer. “Emerald City” is a Universal Television production.

Lucifer: The Complete First Season clips

The first season of Lucifer hits blu-ray and dvd August 23rd, but we've got a few clips now!

For more information on the release check it out here.

Based on the character from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo comic, Lucifer is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, and has resigned his throne and retired to the City of Angels where he is indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women and song. When a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered before his eyes, he feels something awaken deep within him – for the first time in roughly 10 billion years. Is he actually capable of feelings for a human being? The very thought disturbs him — as well as his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen (aka Maze), a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. The murder attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker, who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer. As they work together to solve the murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Used to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, he begins to wonder if there’s hope yet. Maybe everyone’s got a chance for redemption. Even the Devil.

The series stars Tom Ellis (Rush, Merlin), Lauren German (Chicago Fire), DB Woodside (Suits, 24), Lesley-Ann Brandt (The Librarians), Kevin Alejandro (Southland, True Blood), Scarlett Estevez (Daddy’s Home), Kevin Rankin (Dallas Buyers Club) and Rachael Harris (The Hangover). Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo from DC Entertainment, Lucifer is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros. Television. Tom Kapinos (Californication) developed the series and serves as executive consultant. Returning for a second season on FOX, the series is executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean films), Jonathan Littman (The Amazing Race, CSI franchise), Joe Henderson (White Collar, Almost Human), Ildy Modrovich (CSI: Miami, Californication) and Len Wiseman (Underworld films).

Lively stars as Nancy, a surfer attacked by a great white shark a mere 200 yards from the shore of a secluded Mexican beach. As she struggles to survive, Nancy faces the ultimate contest of wills in the movie critics called “terrifyingly good” (Simon Thompson, IGN.com). Alycia Debnam-Carey & Colman Domingo Discuss "Fear The Walking Dead" Ahead Of Season 2B Premiere

For those of you that might not have been keeping up with my social media postings, I did one-on-one interviews in London with "Fear The Walking Dead" cast members Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia Clark) and Colman Domingo (Victor Strand) about a month ago for UK-outlet MYMBUZZ. Among other things, Alycia shared about the physical challenges of playing Alicia as the show has begun to embark on a more traditional apocalyptic route.

“There was one episode where we were on sand dunes and I remember having to run up sand dunes for hours, and just thinking, ‘When will this end? My legs are so sore!’”

Speaking with Colman Domingo was an absolute pleasure, particularly when I steered the conversation towards the topic of media representation.

“I don’t even think the intention was for it to be a character that we haven’t seen before or a character that would eschew certain tropes. I think that they were just building this character of, ‘What is the strongest character for this show?’ I don’t even think that Victor Strand was meant to be African-American at all. From what I know with the showrunner, the intention was that the character, it’s written, it’s in the language, and whether he is white, black, Asian, or other, I think Victor Strand possibly could have been a woman, or gay, straight, you name it. But I think that’s the cool thing about it. All I can do is try to be honest and sincere, and work hard, and try and bring something complex that people respond to in some way.”

Top 5 Free Swag Items I Got From SDCC 2016

Following the attendance of SDCC, every attendee must go through the process of reorganising their possessions after acquiring a number of new items, whether it be through purchase or giveaways from booths/signings. Personally, I'm not one for enjoying trinkets but more functional acquisitions such as t-shirts are always a favourite since they can justifiably be kept even through repeated moves from one city/country to another.

So I thought I would share my Top 5 favourite acquisitions from this past con that I'm likely to hold onto (this list will not include any autographed items since it creates an unfair bias to judging the more general swag items).

Number 5: "Vikings" Drinking Horn

No, your eyes aren't fooling you. Among the free items the "Vikings" booth was giving out was an exclusive drinking horn. Despite my preference for function over novelty, the pure hilarity and outlandishness of this concept and design for merchandise has earned this alcohol-consumption device a spot on my list. Yes, there's a fair chance I'll be giving this item away if and when I manage to amass a large-enough social-media following to be able to organize a giveaway(s). But for now, I derive a sufficient amount of amusement every time I see the boxed drinking horn on my shelf.

Number 4: FOX Poster Tube

Every year, the FOX booth gives out colourful poster tubes with a plethora of their shows and projects advertised on the design. What I appreciate about this consistency is that whether you're purchasing posters or acquiring them from attending signings, it's often inevitable that you will find yourself in possession of new posters that require a safe place to stow them so they don't get beat up from the wear and tear of SDCC. This poster tube was an absolute life-saver from me in keeping my new posters safe after attending various signings.

Number 3: "Ash Vs. Evil Dead"/"The Walking Dead" Tote Bag

If I remember correctly it was the "The Walking Dead" booth that was giving out tote bags that had a design with "Ash Vs. Evil Dead" on one side and "The Walking Dead" on the other. This proved to be particularly beneficial to me as my camera bag was too small to carry everything I needed when getting around the con so after putting that smaller bag into this tote bag, I had enough room left over to hold everything else, along with any other smaller swag items acquired throughout the day. Can you tell how much I enjoy functional items? This is some A+ adult-ing going on over here.

Number 2: "Man Of Steel" T-Shirt

I find it endlessly amusing how highly sought-after items at SDCC that are treated as highly exclusive can often make a return-appearance at the con some odd years later. It conjures imagined scenarios of studio organisers getting tired of all the extra clutter in their warehouses so they decide to dump their surplus at SDCC so it's no longer their problem. Then again, the "Man Of Steel" t-shirts being passed out at the WB booth this year are also a timely promotional item to return to the con considering how many new DC properties were being promoted. Either way, I love my new Superman shirt, and in particular, the fact that I was able to get one of the navy blue ones instead of the unfortunate white ones that were practically begging to be ruined from brushing up against something and becoming irreparably stained.

Number 1: "Wonder Woman" Shirt

This is by far, my most prized takeaway item (without any signatures on it) from SDCC 2016. This was one of the items being passed out by the DC booth to those that were able to get into the Wonder Woman signing. I am shamelessly, gratuitously excited about the impending release of the "Wonder Woman" film. I camped out all night just to try to get into a raffle to be able to attend this signing so I could get a couple seconds with each of the cast/crew members in attendance. There isn't much else in the clothing department that will make me feel more powerful than this shirt for all that it symbolises.

If you'd like to see a more expansive look at the items I picked up from this con, check out my SDCC 2016 haul video:

AMC's "Preacher" Concludes Explosive First Season!

AMC's "Preacher" concluded it's first season on Sunday with more explosive developments that are sure to have longstanding consequences that will extend into season two. The show's premise surrounds the lead character of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) as a preacher that becomes possessed by a supernatural entity known as Genesis that bestows upon him the ability to command others to do as he says when he puts on a particularly authoritative tone of voice. Rounding out the main trio is Jesse's childhood-sweetheart Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga) and vampire best friend Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Though "Preacher" began its run with a slower pace and jigsawed manner of story-telling that left viewers with more questions than answers, it picked up pace and strengthened the drama of its character moments as it carried on. The most intriguing question of the season finale lies in the explosion that wiped out the entire town, during which our lead trio was away thanks to Tulip's conveniently-timed craving for fries. If everyone in the town was truly wiped out, than "Preacher" will have the fascinating task of setting up all new supporting characters to weave in and out of the main trio's plot. We would wager that Eugene's (Ian Colletti) rescue from Hell will be returned to, as will the rise of the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) who has been summoned to Earth to hunt down and kill Jesse by the Angels. Then there's the little matter of God being missing and everyone up in Heaven that had been orchestrating such an elaborate cover-up. Indeed the show seems ripe for even more action, drama, and supernatural excitement in the coming season.

For more of my thoughts on this first season of AMC's "Preacher", watch my video review here:
