ACTION-PACKED STORY & NIGHTMARISH CHARACTERS COLLIDE IN NEW SERIES COFFIN BOUND

Dan Watters (Sandman Universe: Lucifer, Limbo) teams with artist Dani (2000AD, Girl with No Name) for an all-new action series full of grindhouse nightmares and high-octane chills in Coffin Bound. The ongoing series will launch from Image Comics this August.

Chased by an unstoppable killer, Izzy Tyburn has decided that if the world won’t have her in it, it can have nothing of her at all. She’s retreading her life, leaving nothing but burned rubber, ash… and the sun-scorched bones of those who get in her way.

"This is a book all about the inevitability of death, and the choice each of us faces between coming to terms with it, or trying to deny it,” said Watters. “This is a book drawn beautifully by Dani, with Brad Simpsons' filthy bright colors. This is a book about cars, guns, and sex—and how each of those things does little to stave off the bottomless void waiting just beyond the veil of our known existence. What was the question again?"

Readers won’t want to miss joining in on this road trip through a blood-splattered life.

HORROR HEADLINER CULLEN BUNN TEAMS WITH KYLE STRAHM AND BALDEMAR RIVAS ON CHILLING NEW SERIES UNEARTH

The X-Files meets Jeff Vandermeer’s Annihilationwith the mounting terror of a classic Stephen King novel in the forthcoming series Unearth—an all-new horror series from Cullen Bunn, Kyle Strahm, and Baldemar Rivas launching this July from Image Comics.

In Unearth, a flesh-warping disease ravages a remote village in Mexico and a scientific task force travels to the inhospitable area to investigate the contamination. Tracing the source of the disease to a nearby cave system, the team discovers a bizarre, hostile ecosystem and a supernatural revelation from which they may never escape.

“I feel so lucky to be working with Kyle and Baldemar on this book,” said Bunn. “Kyle and I have such similar sensibilities when it comes to horror, but there are enough differences in our tastes that we challenge each other. And Baldemar! What an amazing talent! And he has helped us to push the boundaries of what this tale of terror is all about. We want this story to be something different and shocking and fun and surprising, and I think we've succeeded!”

Strahm added: "If you like the idea of beautiful horror, Unearth is the book for you. Baldemar's art is as pretty as it is disturbing. And Cullen always gives the creeps."

Rivas said: "I'm incredibly proud of Unearth and thrilled to be working with two of the most twisted minds in comics. This book is filled with the most disturbing storytelling that I've ever done, with a perfect balance of grotesque, beautiful, and chilling imagery in each issue. I'm excited to unleash this beast upon the world."

Showcasing the same unsettling pacing of Michael Rutger’s The AnomalyUnearth will provide fans with a new subterranean nightmare that they won’t want to miss.

Unearth #1 Cover A by Rivas (Diamond Code MAY190025) and Unearth #1 Cover B by Strahm (Diamond Code MAY190026) will hit comic shops on Wednesday, July 10. The final order cutoff for comic shop retailers is Monday, June 17.

Unearth will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

New X-O MANOWAR Creative Team Revealed

Artwork by Emilio Laiso and Ruth Redmond

Valiant Entertainment is excited to announce the creative team behind the upcoming X-O MANOWAR ongoing series this November!

Promo art by Christian Ward

Scribe Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum (Star Wars: Vader - Dark Visions) proclaims, “The Valiant universe is full of intensely human characters with wild origins and interesting flaws.” With X-O MANOWAR Hallum is excited to explore new territory, “We always give the cool robot suits to billionaires and scientists. I love how Aric flips that on its head. He didn't build the suit. He can't explain the suit. And he could kick your butt up and down the road without the suit. The anachronism is fascinating and I can't wait to play around with it.”

Mark Millar & Image/Netflix announce SPACE BANDITS comic book & special limited edition covers illustrated by artist legends

First Limited Legends Cover Illustrated by Howard Chaykin to Retail for Just 75 Cents, the Price of a Comic-Book When Millar Was a Teen
Today, Netflix and Mark Millar announce their latest project created in-house, SPACE BANDITS #1 Cover ASpace Bandits—a female led sci-fi story, described by Millar as a female Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid set in space with a massive and exciting cast of characters.

Superstar Artist Matteo Scalera will illustrate the comic-book translation of this original Netflix property, published by Image Comics.

In Space Bandits, Thena Khole and Cody Blue are among the universe’s most wanted felons. Each the leader of their own criminal operations, they run heists across the galaxies—hopping from ship to ship to fleece everyone inside. But when both women are betrayed by their treacherous crews, the bandits only have one thing on their minds: REVENGE.

"I love writing female-led stories in everything from Reborn to Empress to Hit-Girl to Jupiter's Legacy and, of course, our recent Magic Order at Netflix," said Millar. "I also love writing big, fun sci-fi things. In a world with a billion superhero properties and gloomy, rain-soaked dystopian sci-fi, there's a gap in the market for sci-fi that's upbeat and fun and I wanted to combine all this into a big, high-octane story. I've been working on this as a property for Netflix since last Summer and now I'm being joined by the brilliant Matteo Scalera for the comic-book translation of this story. The guy's a genius and I've followed him for years. Having him draw this is like someone you've always had a crush on going out on a date with you. He's just amazing."

As a special bonus, and available to order at the same time, is a limited edition series of Space Bandits Legends Covers, featuring Miller’s all-time favorite comic-book artists—artists Miller was obsessed with in high school, and whom he has wanted to work with for years.

The first of these five very limited edition covers will be illustrated by comic-book legend Howard Chaykin, and will retail for the same price as a comic-book cost when Mark was in high school… just 75 cents. All other covers will retail at the regular $3.99 price.

Space Bandits #1 will be available in stores on Wednesday, July 3. The final order cutoff deadline is June 10.

Space Bandits #1 also will be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Rebekah Isaacs teams with Luther Strode's Justin Jordan on a grim new fantasy series for the Game of Thrones fan—REAVER

Just in time for fans anticipating Game of Thrones withdrawals, comes an all-new, dark fantasy series by Justin Jordan (Luther Strode) and Rebekah Isaacs (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) titled, Reaver. The new series is set to launch from Image Comics/Skybound this July.

The continent of Madaras once promised a new start for settlers, but 200 years after its discovery, the war rages on. Deep within this savage and untamed land, a darkness builds that must be stopped at all costs.

To do so, the Imperials assemble six of its most despicable prisoners—a turncoat, a skin eater, a sorcerer and his bodyguard, a serial killer, and the Devil’s Son—the only ones who can stop the end of the new world. They are Hell’s Half-Dozen.

In the exclusive scoop on the series announcement, Jordan told Polygon: “If you like your fantasy grim, dark and bloody, Reaver is the book for you. I've been working on this for years, and it's finally time to see the gory baby that Rebekah and I have created.”

Isaacs told Polygon, “Working on this book was like playing the best kind of D&Dcampaign—the characters are crude, rude, and entirely unpredictable. They are a DM’s worst nightmare! I loved the combo of a Grindhouse feel in a high-fantasy setting. It made this blood-and-gore-lovin’ artist very happy.”

Reaver #1 by Becky Cloonan (Diamond Code MAY190027) will hit stores on Wednesday, July 10. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, June 17.

Reaver will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

EPISODIC FANTASY SERIES FAIRLADY HITS THE MARK FOR FANS OF RAT QUEENS, FABLES

The new series is being rushed back to print to keep up with customer demand
Writer Brian Schirmer, artist Claudia Balboni (Star Trek), and colorist Marissa Louise’s new whodunit fantasy series Fairlady launched with a West Coast signing tour and early fan support. Fairlady #1 will be rushed back to print in order to keep up with the enthusiasm for the new series.
This debut issue and each following issue will feature a complete 30-page story and blends the procedural case-solving of Magnum, P.I. and Fables, with a Rat Queens-like high-fantasy aesthetic.
In Fairlady, after posing as a man to join the army, Jenner Faulds returns home to The Feld for a new start as a “Fairman”—a specially licensed private investigator. But sexism didn’t end on the battlefield, and as the only “Fairlady,” Jenner gets stuck with the cases nobody else wants. Hitting the streets to solve The Feld’s overlooked mysteries, Jenner finds that the smallest cases hide the biggest secrets.
Fairlady #1, second printing (Diamond Code MAR198112) will be available on Wednesday, May 15. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, April 22.
Fairlady #1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
Select praise for Fairlady:
“The book promises a police-procedural-meets-urban-fantasy vibe, but what really sets it apart is that each 30-page issue purports to be a complete one-and-done story, making the barrier for entry particularly low.” —Paste Magazine
“A stellar first issue of what promises to be an excellent series. The writing, the complete ‘one and done’ story format, the art, and even the carefully crafted culture of The Feld all makes the book a standout. Come for the anthropomorphic cat, stay for a genuinely original and fascinating story that will leave you wanting more in the best way possible.” —ComicBook.com
“An enjoyable read. There aren’t enough stories like this on the stands today, old-school detective stories that allow you to pick up a single issue and enjoy a complete story, whether the overarching mystery is solved or not.” —Newsarama
“Its fantasy procedural nature is really exciting and sure to grip a great many.”
AiPT! Comics

Fairlady is Columbo by way of Conan, a tight little procedural with fantasy flare.”

“A fun, smart book with a great hook. Worth your time.”
